De Montfort University
De Montfort University (DMU) is a high quality and creative comprehensive university located in the city of Leicester at the very heart of England. It was first established as Leicester School of Art in 1870 and then became Leicester Municipal Technical and Art School in 1897. In 1929, the school was rebranded as the Leicester College of Arts and Crafts and the Leicester College of Technology. In 1969, it was formally designed as the City of Leicester Polytechnic and officially became De Montfort University on 26 June 1992. DMU, now in its 150th year, has grown into the inclusive, diverse, and global institution seen today - with 26,000 students, 2,600 staff, and friends, partners and positive influence across the world.
The university is organized into 4 faculties: Business and Law (BAL); Arts, Design and Humanities (ADH); Computing, Engineering and Media (CEM) and Health and Life Sciences (HLS) which could provide more than 500 courses to students. The university is a sustainable development hub, focusing on Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions that initiative by the United Nations launched in 2018.
DMU receives 23 fellowships in the National Teaching Fellow Awards which is the most prestigious awards for excellence in higher education. According to the National Student Survey, Faculty of Business and Law gains No.4 in the UK. 96.7% of DMU graduates found a job or continued their study within six months.

Campus and Facilities

Vijay Patel Building: home to the art and design subjects, reflects the commitment to creative education.
Hugh Aston Building: home to the business and law students. Inside the building, one of the UK’s largest Bloomberg terminals give students access to the same information as leaders in business, finance and government, binging the real world of word into the classroom.
Hawthorn Building: it designed to replicate current practice in health and life sciences, including contemporary analytical chemistry and formulation laboratories, audiology booths and nursing and midwifery clinical skills suites.
Queen’s Building: belongs to the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media. It equipped with industry-level video, audio and radio production suites and recording studios. It also has an energy laboratory, where DMU research helped EU businesses hit energy-efficiency targets, and the cyber security center and laboratories have been developed with leaders int the industry.
The Kimberlin Library is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and offers a range of resources, all of which can be accessed anytime, anywhere.
Faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities
The Faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities brings together DMU’s creative disciplines. Its courses range from traditional to boundary pushing and research is rated as internationally excellent.
The Vijay Patel Building, home to art and design courses, is the centerpiece of the £136 million Campus Transformation Project. It is the award-winning building of Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) East Midlands Award.
World-known courses: Fashion Management places No.3 in the globe; Fashion Design world No.7; Footwear Design and Contour Fashion are No.1 in the UK; Architected named No. 9 in the UK accredited by RIBA and ARB.

Faculty of Business and Law
The Faculty of Business and Law delivers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including accounting, law, politics, marketing and business studies, that are all designed with employability in mind.
Business School is accredited by 22 authorities which include EFMD, CABS, SBC, ACCA, CIPD, CIMA etc.
Over 78.8% Chinese students get 1st degree and upper 2nd degree when they graduate from Undergraduate courses.

The Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media trains engineers, computer scientists and media technologists alike. Leicester City
Leicester is located in the Midlands area of the UK and is around an hour away from London and Birmingham by train. DMU Global

Accommodation
There are 14 halls of residence, with more than 4,300 rooms, which means students get the chance to live on campus and meet lots of new people. All the accommodation is self-catered and fully furnished, with kitchens, laundry facilities and internet access. All DMU halls of residence are signed up to the Universities UK national student accommodation code of practice. The university aim to offer a healthy, safe environment with the professional level of service student would expect.
