About us:
The University of Greenwich was established in 1890 and has a history of 130 years. The former predecessor was Woolwich Institute of Technology and it was promoted to a comprehensive university in 1992. In 1996, the world-famous Natural Resources Research Institute and Maritime Research Institute merged into the university of Greenwich before and after, which integrated with related disciplines of the university and further enhanced the comprehensive research strength of the University of Greenwich. Yan Fu and Lin Yongsheng, the first batch of Chinese students studying in the UK, studied shipbuilding and driving in the University of Greenwich; Nobel Prize winner in Physics Gao Kun, who is "Father of Optical Fiber", and Nobel Peace Prize winner Abi Ahmed Ali, who is Ethiopia's current Prime Minister, has studied here. At the same time, we are also one of the 10 largest universities in the UK, known as the “Versailles Palace” in the UK; also one of the universities recommended by the Ministry of Education for studying abroad. The school is strategically located in the center of London, at the foot of the Greenwich Observatory. The Prime Meridian passes through the campus, adjacent to the Thames River, and across the bank from the famous British financial city Canary Wharf.

The school has a multi-level talent training system for undergraduates, masters and doctors, and joined the "British University Alliance" in March 2013. Currently there are 3 campuses, 2 world-class research institutes, and 4 faculties, each of which is faculty of Business, faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, faculty of Engineering and Science, faculty of Educational Health and Human Science, a total of 11 departments, and has more than 400 majors. Most of the courses have been certified by relevant associations or institutions, and maintain good cooperation with the world's top 500 companies. Most of these undergraduate courses can provide internship opportunities.

The faculty of Business provides a wide range of options for undergraduates and graduate students. Courses include accounting, finance and economics, tourism, and transportation. The faculty of business is located in the main campus of Greenwich, close to the City of London, and has established a very close relationship with local enterprises. The Department of Design provides a wide range of courses in the fields of architecture, land planning and built environment, and is linked to related professional institutions, such as the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. According to the evaluation report issued by QAA (Quality Assurance Agency, British Higher Education Quality Supervision), the land and property management was rated 21 points, and the town planning major was rated 24 points (out of 24 points)

The department of Computer and Mathematics is dedicated to industry and business research in computer and information systems, mathematics and computer science. The department publishes more than 70 articles every year and was awarded the Queen’s Medal of Honor in 2002 for its outstanding academic research and contributions in the field of fire protection software. The research level is second to none in this field. The research results were adopted in the design of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games venues and achieved very good results and effect. The software was also used in the development and design of the Millennium Theatre in Greenwich (the famous tourist attraction "Millennium Egg" in London), which greatly enhanced the capacity of this one-kilometer theater to accommodate 40,000 spectators.
The department has three million pounds in research funding from industry, research councils, the European Union and the government. Researchers and students have access to several of its facilities, as well as laboratories with the latest versions of hardware and software.

The faculty of Education, Health and Human Science provides courses including teaching, educational research, child education research, nursing, physical education and sports, public health and psychology.
The faculty provides well-equipped teaching facilities and high-level teachers. The academic staff of the college have close ties with many NHS trust funds and other health and social care institutions, making its courses and contemporary natural health and health care work of considerable practical significance. The college has more real and effective practical clinical operation experience for interns. In the 2019 QAA's assessment report of the School of Health, the nursing major was rated 23 points, and the psychology major was rated 22 points (out of 24 points)

Faculty of Engineering & Science
The faculty of Engineering and Science is one of the oldest faculties in the university. Its main advantages are civil engineering, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and engineering management. Mechanical engineering has a high reputation in the UK. Many projects come directly or indirectly from companies, and students can accumulate rich practical experience. The Institute of Nature, located on the Medway campus, is an independent multidisciplinary research center. It has a high reputation in global food security, sustainable development and poverty reduction projects, and provides high-quality research, consulting, teaching and training.
The NRI has received four Queen's Medals to recognize outstanding academic research and outstanding contributions in the field.
